Wages and Benefits
Wages, Salary, Commissions and Benefits
Every successful business is based on a positive relationship between its employers and employees. Employees have the right to expect fair and timely compensation for their work. Likewise, employers have the right to expect that their guidelines are followed and work is completed. If this relationship falters and leads to a wage and hour dispute, we can help.
A minimum wage is the lowest hourly, daily, or monthly wage that employers may legally pay to employees or workers. There are both federal and state laws requiring the payment of minimum wage. The Fair Labor Standards Act require the payment of overtime for work in excess of 40 hours per week.
There are other legal claims that may be asserted to recover unpaid wages such as breach of contract or agreement (verbal or written), quantum meruit, promissory estoppel, misrepresentation or unjust enrichment.
Whether you are a construction worker who has not been paid overtime, a real estate agent who has not been paid commissions, a waiter who has not been provided an appropriate wage, or a n administrative or clerical worker improperly characterized as exempt form payment of overtime, we can help.
We are here to stand up for your rights. At our law firm, we will take the time to learn about your situation. We will learn about your needs and fight to see that they are met.
